LINEN DRAPE
- Given the cavernous nature of the room, black sheer drapes were chosen to give backdrop and intimacy without making the room overly dark or heavy.
- The sheer quality of the fabric enabled those in the room to see outside movement.

ZEBRA CHAIRS
- Wanted to avoid traditional commercial boardroom chairs
- I deliberately chose an armchair to achieve a lounge feel + fabric that looked good from behind since the back of the chairs is the first view when walking in.
- Black velvet on the seat back and front panel relieves the intense pattern of the back fabric.

The Brief

The Mercedes boardroom had been under utilised in its previous form. Mercedes wished to re-purpose it as a function room where clients could be entertained in a private setting.

If someone became the proud owner of a new Benz, Mercedes wanted them to be able to celebrate the occasion in a setting in keeping with the stately nature of the purchase.

Mercedes also wished to use the room as an intimate venue to host small groups of selected clients for VIP events.

When completed, a European Mercedes executive commented,
“Of all the Mercedes boardrooms I have seen, this is the best.”
